Bajusz,
Péter 1st dan (2000).
Started Aikido training in 1986 in Vác, as a student of
József Horváth .
Runs his own dojo in Vác since October, 2001.
Bak, László 2nd dan
(2002).
Began Aikido practice under Ognjan Kozsuharov, joined HKDF in 1996.
Lived and studied at Kobayashi Dojo, Tokyo in 3-month intervals in 1998, 2000, 2001
and 2002.
Lives and teaches Aikido in Esztergom, where opened his own permanent dojo
in August 2003.
Berek, József 1st dan (2002).
Started Aikido practice in 1990, under László Héjja.
Began instructing in Békéscsaba in 1994, joined HKDF with his group in
2000.
Csáki, István 1st dan (1999).
Born in 1978 in Miskolc, where he lives now. First taught in August 1993 by Balázs Szabó .
He is in charge of Shoei Dojo, Miskolc and another HKDF dojo in
Tiszaújváros.
Dobos, Attila 1st dan (2002).
Instructs in Gádoros, Békés county.
Dóczi, Sándor 3rd dan (2004).
Engineer and teacher.
Started Aikido training in 1990 in Szombathely, then from 1993 practiced with Balázs Szabó.
One of the founders of HKDF in 1996, presently leader of Seiwakan Dojo, located in Vác
and Gõd.

Füki, András 1 dan (2003).
Began Aikido training in Székesfehérvár, under Tamás Pápai ,
later taught by László Magyar . From 1998, as a student of Gate of Dharma Buddhist College, Budapest,
attended the trainings of Balázs Szabó .
Took over the responsibility for the late Imre Máté 's dojo in 2000.
Gulyás, László 2nd dan.
Conducts adults and children classes in Budapest.
Hochstrasser, Norbert 2nd dan (2004).
Born in Vác, 1979. Started Aikido there in 1994, at Dóczi Sándor's dojo.
Began teaching children and adults classes in 2001.
Horváth, József 1st dan (1986).
One of the leading figures in the early history of Aikido in Hungary. Started Aikido in the early 80s under Michel Gollo,
opened his own dojo in Vác in 1984.
Served as a Board member in Hungarian Aikido Federation. Earned his 1st dan grade in 1986, at the first dan-examination ever held in
Hungary.
Among our instructors, Bajusz Péter, Szabó Balázs and
Szeltner Zsolt made their first steps in Aikido at his dojo.
Juhász, Csaba 3rd dan (2001).
Economist. Began training in 1986, under Tamás Pápai in Székesfehérvár.
Later taught by József Horváth in Budapest. Since 1989 leads Zanshin Dojo
in Sopron, one of the founding members of HKDF in 1996.
Karácsony, Zoltán 2nd dan (2002).
Folklorist, graduated from ELTE University, Budeapest, in 1988 as a student of Hungarian literature and folklore.
Began training in 1993 at Honshin Dojo, Budapest, under Balázs Szabó.
Became an instructor in 2000, presently leads children classes at Honshin Dojo and
teaches children in 18th district of Budapest.
Kávai, Péter 1st dan (2002).
Started Aikido practice in 1995 under Magyar László in Székesfehérvár.
Continued training with Balázs Szabó, as a student of Gate of Dharma Buddhist College, Budapest,
between 1996-2000. After graduation opened his own dojo in Mór.
Kisházi, ákos 2nd dan (2004). Born in 1967, elementary school teacher.
Began Aikido training in 1996 under Balázs Szabó, in Kecskemét.
Conducts children classes in and around Kecskemét since 1999.
Kobayashi,
Hiroaki 6th dan (2003)
Born in Tokyo, 1965 as Kobayashi Yasuo sensei's only son.
Vice-President of Aikido Kobayashi Dojo.
Stayed and taught Aikido in Indonesia and Poland.
First visited Hungary in 1993, since then regularily leads HKDF seminars.
has a master's degree at international co-operation, speaks English, Indonesian and Chinese.
Father of a cute little girl, Kaho, who was born in 1998.
Kobayashi, Yasuo 8th dan (1990). Aikikai shihan, President of Aikido Kobayashi Dojo.
Born in Tokyo, 1936. After practicing Judo at Kodokan Dojo as a child he got acquainted with Aikido in 1954 and became an uchideshi
(live-in student) at Honbu Dojo.
Served as an instructor at Honbu Dojo from the end of the 50s, played a role in organizing university Aikido societies.
Opened his own dojo in Kodaira in 1969, from this dojo a whole network of dojos developed through the years. Kobayashi Dojo presently
covers more than 100 dojos in Japan and partner-organizations in 15 countries.
Kobayashi sensei visited Hungary and taught us three times (1996, 2001, 2003) so far.
Magyar, László 3rd dan (2002). Born in 1958.
Started Aikido practice in Székesfehérvár, at Tamás Pápai's dojo in 1987.
Opened his own dojo in Székesfehérvár in 1993.
One of the founders of HKDF in 1996. In 1997 fall stayed and practiced at kobayashi Dojo, Japan for 2 months.
A professional Aikido instructor since 2001.
Masuda, Manabu 5th dan. Kobayashi Dojo shidoin (instructor).
Born in Tokyo, 1962. Joined Kobayashi Dojo children class in 1969.
First visited Hungary in 1998, Masuda sensei is regular instructor of HKDF Easter Seminars.
Máté, Imre (1956-2002) 1st kyu.
Started Aikido practice in Székesfehérvár, at Tamás Pápai's dojo in 1986.
As leader of Norito Dojo, Székesfehérvár, he was one of the founders of HKDF in 1996, worked as an instructor of
our Federation until 1998.
Died in a car accident in May 2002.
Monzák, Gábor 1st dan (1992).
Engineer.
Started Aikido training under Michel Gollo in 1984. As a student lived in Pécs for years, started Aikido instruction there.
Later moved back to Budapest and opened a dojo in the 13th district.
Worked as an instructor of our Federation until 2003, when he quit teaching.
Pápai, Tamás 1st dan (1992).
Pioneer of Aikido in the city of Székesfehérvár, one of the founders of HKDF, from 1996 to 1998 an instructor of
our Federation.
His Székesfehérvár dojo (later Shintai Dojo), founded in 1986, was the place where several of our today teachers
(László Magyar, Csaba JuhászAndrás Füki)
started to learn this art.
Polgár, András 2nd dan (2002).
Environment engineer. Leader of Meishin Dojo, Sopron since 2003.
'I was born in 1980. I practiced Judo as a child from 1989 to 1992, then I started practicing Aikido in Sopron, at
Juhász Csaba's dojo.
I was promoted to 1st dan in 1999, 2nd dan in 2002, examined by senseis
Hiroaki Kobayashi and Manabu Masuda, respectively.
At present in my Aikido I emphasize deep understanding and correct practicing of basics, as well its effective teaching methods.
During my trainings I try to provide my students with a good, cheerful atmosphere. I have learned much from the instructors of
Kobayashi Dojo visiting Hungary and sensei Jaff Raji as well. I like to study books and papers on Aikido, from 2004 I practice Kendo
together with Aikido.'
Skuczi, László 2nd dan (2002).
Secondary school teacher, one of the founders of HKDF. Leader of Seishin Dojo, Pécel.
'I started my martial arts training in 1977 in Budapest - it was called Aikido but its contents was a mixture of Judo, Ju-jutsu and
Karate. A great change came when I met sensei Tsuneo Tamura in Japan, with the kind help of my friend, Noriichiro
Yanagawa. Sensei Tamura provided the connection to Sensei Kobayashi. My development in Hungary was supported
by Balázs Szabó, President of Hungarian Kobayashi Dojos. Due to these events everything changed in my
Aikido career in 1992. I am deeply honored to be founding member and instructor of HKDF. I began instructing in Pécel with the
encouragement of Sensei Tamura in 1994. My dojo, Seishin Dojo was the last dojo getting its name from Sensei Tamura. I started with three
students, two of them continues practice even now. Conducting adults and children classes as well I try to inherit everything to my
students what I was taught by my teachers in Japan.'
Somogyvári, Szabolcs 2nd dan (2001).
Founding member of HKDF, leader of Saborucho Dojo (Budapest, 4th district).
Studied at Kobayashi Dojo in 1999 and 2001.
Szabó, Balázs 4th dan
(2001)
Born 1968, lives in Budapest. Studied philosophy and Japanese at ELTE University, Budapest.
Works as a teacher at Gate of Dharma Buddhist College, responsible for the Aikido programme.
Began Aikido practice in Vác, under József Horváth. Founded
Honshin Dojo, Budapest, in 1991. Founding member and president of Hungarian Kobayashi Dojos Federation, also serves as president of
Hungarian Aikido Culture Federation, an umbrella organization giving official coverage to all Hungarian Aikido associations.
In his Aikido he emphasizes clean, correct movements, rational, effective techniques and a practice to realize these.
Szeltner, Zsolt 3rd dan (2002).
'I was always interested in martial arts and I had some experience in some of them before Aikido, but in Aikido I found everything I had
been looking for. I began my Aikido practice at Zrínyi Miklós National Defense University under
József Horváth, in 1990. This dojo was later taken over by
Balázs Szabó, who named it Honshin Dojo, so I continued to practice under his direction.
Beyond the two of them I am also grateful to the Japanese Kobayashi Dojo instructors and Toshiyuki Kitayama.
In 1993 I moved to Eger, there was no Aikido dojo in the city then. Wishing to go on with Aikido I myself opened a dojo, which was later
given its name, 'Shobukan Dojo' by Sensei Tsuneo Tamura. I was promoted to 1st dan during Shihan
Yasuo Kobayashi's first seminar in Hungary, I earned my 2nd dan grade in 1999 and 3rd dan in 2002.
At present outside my Eger dojo I regularly teach in
Salgótarján and in Budapest.'
Szileszky, Péter 1st dan (1999).
Instructor of Torii Dojo, in the 13th district of Budapest. Joined HKDF with his dojo
in 1997.
Szõts, Gábor 1st dan (2002).
'I started Aikido training in 1996 under Balázs Szabó at the Gate of Dharma Buddhist College.
For one year I practiced as an outsider then I became a student of the Aikido programme there.
In 2001 I became assistant instructor for Balázs in a nearby dojo. In the same year I left Budapest and began to work as a
full-time Aikido instructor. I earned my 1st dan grade in 2002 while leading my dojos in Siófok and Szekszárd.
Together with my students we have founded Hikari Aikido Association, which I serve as President for.
Presently I teach children as well as adults trainings in Pécs and Szekszárd, moreover I am
supervisor of our Siófok dojo, where one of our advanced students, József Nagy is in charge.
Beyond Kobayashi Dojo I practice 'Ki Aikido' (Toitsu Do), where at present I hold the grade 'jokyu' (somewhere between 2nd and 1st kyu).
I regularly visit Shihan Guiseppe Ruglioni in Italy. I am interested in other schools as well, so I also practice Toshiro Obata-style
Aiki-jutsu (Aiki-buken) and Bojitsu. I try to build all these experiences into the material of my trainings.'
Tamura, Tsuneo (1944-1995) 6th dan.
Kobayashi Dojo Shihan, who established and for the first 4 years directed the Hungarian connection at Kobayashi Dojo.
Sensei Tamura began Aikido practice in 1968 at Honbu Dojo, then taught by his cousin, Sensei Yasuo Kobayashi.
As an instructor he led dojos in the city of Tsukui an wider Yokohama area.
Sensei Tamura conducted seminars at Honshin Dojo, Budapest in summers of 1993 and 1994.
Died in July 1995, of lungs cancer.
Virág, Imre 1st dan (2003)
Since 2004 instructor of Shoshinkan Dojo in Adyliget.
Virga, János 2nd dan (2001).
Instructor of HKDF dojos in Bicske and Tatabánya.
Began Aikido practice in 1992 under Sándor Dóczi in Vác.
'From February of 1993 Balázs Szabó became the supervisor of our dojo, so I could practice
at Honshin Dojo as well. From 1996 to 2000 I was a student of the Aikido programme at Gate of Dharma Buddhist College.
After graduation I opened my own dojos in Tatabánya (2000), then in Bicske (2003). I contributed in the organizational work of Hungarian
Kobayashi Dojos Federation from its 1996 foundation. I am a member of its Board, which is great honor for me.
